History of the Firm

Claude Dumais and Christian Giard started working together in July 1987 as newly qualified notaries, and went into partnership on October 1 of the same year. Their first offices were on Masson Street in Montreal, and a year later the firm moved to its present permanent location at 5777 Sherbrooke St. East, suite 201, in Montreal.

Expanding gradually to meet the needs of its clients, the firm engaged Mtre Geneviève Godin, a specialist in the law on capacities and persons and estate law/law on succession. Later the firm took three articling interns under its wing: Mtre Jaime Lerakis, Mtre Josianne Gelfusa and Mtre Benoit M. Leroux. They are still with the firm.

We could not have achieved this increase in notarial staff without the valuable and loyal support of our office personnel who often work out of the spotlight but who provide the vital link with our clients.
Thanks to the dynamism of our rising generation of young notaries and the efficiency of our office staff, the firm Dumais & Giard Notaires inc. can claim to be one of the best notarial firms in Montreal.
